The National Football League is reportedly not too happy with plans by cable giant Comcast to move the NFL Network to a more expensive programming package and is encouraging fans to complain to Comcast or even cancel their Comcast service in favor or Satellite TV.
Now you’re talking my language! As anyone who has visited this site before should know, I dumped cable more than eight years ago and have never looked back. I’ve had Dish Network ever since and I love it.
Getting back to our NFL-Comcast feud, apparently, the NFL once even tried to sue Comcast over this issue but lost in court. I guess it could be a while before this battle comes to an end.
If you ask me, these are typical cable TV shenanigans — always looking for a new excuse to jack prices up again. I was a cable customer for years before getting Dish, so I know how it goes.
If you are thinking about dumping cable in favor of satellite, you should check out my Dish Network Deals page.

Dish Network has introduced a brand-new member to its line-up of DVR Receivers. The ViP222 is the newest member of the family and boasts many features.
The ViP222 is positioned just above the ViP211 in the line-up and offers a two-room solution for HD customers. Although the ViP222 does allow the customer to feed two televisions, only one feed is HD, while the other is standard definition.
As readers of this blog already know, I have the ViP622 HD DVR Receiver and I love it. If you want to see a demo of some of the features of the 622, just click here.

Dish Network and MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) have just agreed to a new deal that will make MGM movies available to Dish Network customers through the satellite service provider’s On Demand feature. MGM productions will also be available through Pay-Per-View as well.
A small sampling of the movies that will be available include Casino Royale, Rocky Balboa and Flyboys.
It appears that Dish Network is working to compete with the cable industry’s ability to provide lots of “on demand” content for their subscribers.
