DISH Network and Frontier Communications formerly announced their recent agreement that will continue their partnership and also expand their bundled service offerings.

Frontier Communications offers a range of services that include telephone, broadband internet, wireless access, data security solutions and other related services and bundles for both consumers and businesses in 27 states.

The the two companies offer products and services that are especially well-suited to rural customers who may live in areas where other options such as cable TV or fiber optic service may not be available.

According to Chairman and CEO of Frontier Maggie Wilderotter, “We’re delighted to continue our 7-year partnership with DISH Network to bring the best video entertainment package to our customers. DISH Network is a leading service provider in Rural America — just like Frontier, while providing excellent high-definition programming choices and award-winning DVR technology. Frontier’s Digital Phone, fast High Speed Internet service and DISH satellite video give our customers unbeatable price/value packages."

The continued partnership with Frontier gives their customers an excellent choice of packages for video entertainment and includes innovative new products such as DISH Network’s Sling technology which gives subscribers access to the company’s “TV Everywhere” technology.

DISH Network’s recent acquisition of Blockbuster also bolsters its offerings in the movie space and makes the company a leading provider of film entertainment.

I’m always running into advertisements on the net that claim you can get “satellite TV on your PC” for $50 or something. Obviously, there are questionable products. Many of them involve downloading some application that supposedly allows you to watch various satellite channels. In view of the fact that satellite TV is a subscription service, it really doesn’t make sense to believe you can get it via your PC for a one-time payment of $49 or $39 or whatever. At least not legally.

With the announcement of a new distribution deal between DISH Network and NeuLion, you can now get real satellite TV on your PC. NeuLion is a company that distributes television programming over the internet and they will now be able to offer international channels from DISH Network.

Dish Network Vice President of International Programming Chris Kuelling has this to say about this new partnership: “We know some of our customers prefer to watch their favorite channels via satellite and others prefer broadband delivery, and we are pleased that we can now offer a solution that fits their specific needs.”

Finally, I can hear someone say “satellite TV in PC” and actually believe it!

DISH Network has formed a new partnership with NeuLion, Inc. a company that offers IPTV service that features live and on-demand international sports and other programming that is access via high-speed internet.

The new agreement will allow NeuLion to distribute some DISH Network international channels over their IPTV service. More and more people are getting TV entertainment on the internet these days and companies and networks are moving to satisfy the demand.

DISH Network offers the most international programming in the business with more than 180 international channels in more than 28 different languages.

Although “satellite TV on your PC” has been a common theme used by scammers selling various lists of web sites that carry TV programming, this partnership looks to make “satellite TV on your PC” a reality – at least some of the programming anyway.

The lines appear to be blurring more and more between television entertainment and the internet. With TV networks making some of their most popular programs available to watch online and new developments like the one between DISH and NeuLion, it appears that we can expect to see more partnerships like this in the future.

Personally, I’m most happy in my recliner in front of my 51-inch HDTV when I want to watch some television, but I have actually caught some of my favorite programs online after missing them on my DVR due to some error on my part, and it’s really quite handy in those circumstances.
